Review of the HP Envy 14 Spectre

HP Envy 14 Spectre provides a unique alternative to various versions of Mac Book Air. In 2006, HP acquired Voodoo PC. This has boosted the production of boutique style laptops at market process. The Envy 14 Spectre has various features which enhance convenience. In addition to that, the laptop is light hence one can easily carry it around. Thirdly, Envy 14 Spectre has a large memory which enables the user to store a large volume of documents, music, videos or pictures. This review focuses on various aspects of Envy 14 Spectre which have contributed to its popularity.

Design
HP Envy 14 Spectre beautifully designed. One may mistake this laptop with an Apples Mac Book Pro when it is open. The top of the laptop is enclosed in Gorilla glass which boosts safety. Moreover, the Envy is scratch resistant. Dropping a laptop is bound to cause considerable damage to the device. A device enclosed in glass is bound to be extensively damaged. It so follows that one should handle the envy with caution. The Envy 14 weighs about 4 pounds. Besides that, the device has a large number of ports. Although it measures 0.79 inches when closed, HP has managed to install numerous ports. These ports include a gigabit ether, two USB ports, Mini Display Port and a HDMI. The right side of the laptop has the power connection and an analog volume control. Moreover, this device has two button flanks. One of the buttons mutes or unmutes sound, while the other toggles Beats Audio on and off.

Video Quality
Although the envy does not have an IPS panel, the laptop comes with a TN panel which has high resolution. The display is rich in color and one can view if from varying angles. It is worth noting that this laptop has a 14 inch screen with a resolution of 1400 by 900 pixels. One can send a 1080 p video through its HDMI port or wirelessly to a HDTV using wireless display technology. Thirdly, one can stream audio to various speakers using Kleernet technology.

Audio Quality
The HP Specter Envy comes with a subwoofer and stereo speakers. However, one may get better sound experience using headphones or externally powered speakers.

Trackpad and key board.
The Spectre’s track pad is covered by glass. It is prudent to note that this glass covering does not tamper with performance. The glass covering responds to tap and button presses. Moreover, the track pad can recognize one or two finger strokes. A person using two fingers to scroll may consider pinch to zoom. An important aspect worth noting about this device is that the bottom of the pad has embedded left and right mouse buttons. Every key on this laptop is lit by an individual LED.
The light shows the letter on the key. In addition to that, the backlight automatically dims when the individual is away from the laptop. As one approaches, the backlight will light brightly once more. This feature is instrumental in preserving battery life. Another important feature of the this keyboard is that keys are spaced enough from each other .This allows one to type without making a lot of mistakes.

Performance
The Envy has a 128 GB SSD, i5-2467M processer running at 1.6 GHz and 4 GB RAM. In terms of performance benchmark, the Envy has 28.09 GOPS which makes is better than Acer Aspire S3’s 27.02 GPS. Besides that, HP Envy 14 Spectre comes with integrated media sharing and a software bundle which encompasses Adobe Premiere and Photoshop Elements.
